Translation Notes
I personally interpret this song as the essence of Ryuseitai during their Yumenosaki days, considering the wordplay with Yumenosaki Academy’s name. Other interesting things to note are:
(1.) When singing the line that has their name hidden in it, the order goes in the same lineup as Ryuseitai in their Yumenosaki days (Chiaki, Kanata, Tetora, Midori, Shinobu).
(2.) The song heavily references their Ryusei catchphrases, which Chiaki came up with at the start of his 3rd year as part of bringing his ideal image of 5-members Ryuseitai to life. A story that briefly covers this is Legendary Hero!.
(3.) It’s the only Ryuseitai song to have group lines split between the Ryuseitai seniors pair and Ryuseitai juniors group only (Other songs mix them up between seniors and juniors or other variations).
(4.) More translation notes coming soon! This song is brimming with references to Yumenosaki Era Ryuseitai ☆
- ↑ They sing yume no saki (beyond dreams), which is homophonous with Yumenosaki Academy (夢ノ咲). The academy’s name lit. means “(the school where) dreams bloom”. Please check the translation notes for more information!
- ↑ In military terms, scramble means “to take off as quickly as possible to intercept enemy planes”, in relation to pilots and aircrafts. Please check the translation notes for more information!
- ↑ This line has Chiaki’s name hidden in it, see bolded: ichi ichi akiramete-cha.
- ↑ This line has Kanata’s name hidden in it, see bolded: negau kanata e. It also has the word “wish”, which relates back to Kanata’s backstory (Read more about it in Meteor Impact).
- ↑ This line has Tetora’s name hidden in it, see bolded: tachi mukatte toraburu o.
- ↑ This line has Midori’s name hidden in it, see bolded: saa, LET ME DREAM.
- ↑ This line has Shinobu’s name hidden in it, see bolded: manazashi nobun.
- ↑ Ryusei Red’s catchphrase is “the sun of life, burning bright red”, and Chiaki’s last name is morisawa, which has the kanji for “protect” (守沢). Please check the translation notes for more information!
- ↑ As a fun note, Kanata tends to talk about “evolution” a lot because of marine biology, such as in his idol story with Midori.
- ↑ This line references kanji from their names. Cloud (kumo) → Same kanji as the one in nagumo (南雲), heights (takami) → Same kanji as the one in takamine (高峯), thousand (sen) → Same kanji as the one in chiaki (千秋), as well as being homophonous with the sen from sengoku.
- ↑ Kanata’s center song in ES!! Era, Bokura no Stella, has some lyrics similar to this song. Such as “rain down”, as well as ikusen (thousands), similar to his center song that has ikuoku (hundreds of millions).
- ↑ As a fun note, in Yumenosaki Era stories, Chiaki would sometimes say “here we go” in English, written in katakana. One instance is in Orihime and Hikoboshi, Epilogue 2.
- ↑ Ryusei Yellow’s catchphrase is “The yellow flame is the mark of hope”.
- ↑ Ryusei Black’s catchphrase is “The black flame is the mark of effort (hard work)”.
- ↑ When Midori was a 1st year, his Ryusei Green catchphrase was “The green flame is the mark of compassion, healing (soothing) everyone with yuruchara and such”.
- ↑ Ryusei Blue’s catchphrase is “The blue flame is the mark of mystery”.
- ↑ Ryusei Red’s catchphrase is “The red flame is the mark of justice, the sun of life, burning bright red”.
- ↑ The official lyrics have exactly five exclamations points here, one for each member. The exclamation point (!) is also meant to represent a shooting star.
