Translation Notes
Tenka Muteki☆Meteorangers! is a song that expresses the unique traits of the five members.
(1.) The unit Ryuseitai is originally based on the “Super Sentai Series” tokusatsu featuring live-action superhero squads. Ryuseitai’s unit title during their Yumenosaki days is “The Sentai Hero unit that tolerates no evill!”.
(2.) Meteoranger also references this, as Super Sentai titles typically contain the squad’s name. Sometimes, the squad’s name is comprised of the sentai’s theme + (ran)ger; ex. Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger (lit. Dinosaur Squadron Beast Ranger), Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (lit. Electric Beast Squadron Dinosaur Ranger, note that only -ger is combined with the word). Ryuseitai lit. means “meteor/shooting star squadron”, so they are the Meteor Rangers.
(3.) This song was released alongside Yumenosaki Ryuseitaika, the song that is of tradition for Yumenosaki’s Ryuseitai, the first established unit in the academy.
- ↑ Kanata’s lyrics in this song are written in hiragana only, similar to how he speaks in dialogue, so his lines are in lowercase.
- ↑ Kanata sings koudou shidai desu, lit. “depends on (your) action”, usually said when the outcome of a situation can change based on what you choose to do (in this case, either giving up when there’s a crisis, or making an opportunity for yourself).
