OVERFLOW! – Chiaki Mini Talk: The Joy Of Reading
1/3

…Phew. Sorry I kept you waiting, Anzu.
Because you gave me time to read, I could read the whole novel until the end.
The novel is a murder-mystery, and a character I never predicted to be the culprit turned out to be the one behind it all… It was so shocking that I think it’ll take me a while to shake it off.
Ah, really? Then I’ll lend you my copy!
No need to hold back. I’d love you to find out how interesting this novel is.
If it’s alright, I want to hear your thoughts after you’ve finished reading it! It’d make me happy! ☆
Don’t worry, I can switch gears once it’s time!
Besides, my next work is a radio broadcast.
I’ll be able to express these feelings to all my listeners, so if anything, this is great timing!

It’s been a while since I got to take my time reading a novel, and it truly is a wonderful experience!
The fun of novels is that undying urge to flip to the next page as soon as possible, while going through a rollercoaster of emotions as you read each line, and I got to remember that joy all over again!
It took me some time to read until the end, but I enjoyed every bit of it!
Yeah. I’m fortunate to have a lot of busy work, but it meant I couldn’t really get the time to read.
Because of that, I had moments when I wasn’t sure if this is the right time to pick up a new novel, but when something’s interesting, you just can’t put the book down.
No matter the situation, it’s always important to take that first step forward!
Ohh, you get me, Anzu? That’s a sensation you can only experience through novels, right? ♪
This is the perfect opportunity to start picking up the habit to read!1
If I ever read another interesting story, I’ll tell you all about it, Anzu! ☆

Oh, whoops. I just kept talking about myself.
You came to see me for something, right?
I know I took a while, but please let me hear you out!
That keychain is definitely mine…!
I had it attached to my pencil case, but it must’ve fell out at some point…
Thank you for picking it up! I really appreciate it, Anzu! ☆
The TV program I’m appearing in next week had its script adjusted?
Hm, hm… I’ll double check more properly later, but from what I can see, it doesn’t seem to be a huge alteration, so I don’t have any problems with this.
You could have just told my agency, but you still came all the way to let me know directly. I appreciate it! ☆
Translation Notes
- ↑ Back in his Yumenosaki school days, Chiaki said that it’s a habit to read before sleeping (mentioned in Sweet Halloween, sweet home 7), but in a Feature Scout story, he mentions that he hasn’t had the time to read as much after he graduated and got busy with work.
