Parkour has been getting featured on TV lately, and it’s been really fascinating to watch.

Yeah, I was thinking about how much parkour and stuntwork have in common.

Maybe I should give parkour a shot sometime?

Safety first, of course.

Yeah, you’re absolutely right on that.

As Ryusei Red, I swear to you that I won’t partake in anything dangerous that could worry all the kids out there.

I’m well versed in the techniques for keeping your body safe from injury.1 So please be rest assured! ☆

It needs a bit of courage, doesn’t it?

Yeah, and those who call themselves a hero should never forget to show courage!

But also, all sports come with the risk of injury.

If I ever give it a try, I promise you that I’ll be extra careful…☆

Sports and other active-based activities can be enjoyed in various ways, not just through watching.

Like listening to the radio commentating a sports match, or reading a novel based on a sport — They’re fun in their own right too.

It gets your imagination moving until you feel like you’re right there, experiencing it for yourself!

That’s an interesting discovery.

Yeah, right? There are times when something resonates in you a lot deeper when it doesn’t come with visuals!

I’m always amazed by the overwhelming expressive power that authors have.

Anzu, I’d love you to try reading a novel like that before you sleep sometime. I’m sure you’ll end up having a wonderful dream...☆

I’ll give it a shot.

Yeah, please do. The moment you get absorbed into it, you’ll be having vivid images of the players moving about in your head.

Because you’re so focused on reading the words, you might find yourself immersed in its world, far more than if you were to watch it.

Words are as vast as the universe, after all!

3/3

In order to expand the amount of things I can do, I have to actively put in the effort to absorb various things.

Whenever I loosen myself, I end up watching adorable videos of animals one after the other.2

There’s nothing wrong with those types of videos, but watching only those is a little too much...

I know how you feel.

Ah, you also end up in that endless loop of watching animal videos, Anzu?

This might be similar to how Kanata feels when he gazes at marine animals.

But in Kanata’s case, that comes in handy for managing his aquarium, so it’s probably necessary for him to spend time doing that.3

Try putting a timer.

I see. You’re right, I have to at least force myself to stop with something like that.

It isn’t good to use up my time just watching with no end. Maybe everyone else in Ryuseitai is struggling with a similar problem, too.

Alright, I’ll have a digital detox day with everyone soon! ☆

Translation Notes

  1. This is typically known as “breakfall”. For example, when doing a stunt or parkour, the way to fall safely is to roll or tumble down.
  2. Chiaki started watching animal videos at around the start of ES2 July; he first mentions this in Mega Stream – Follow Closely! mini talk (Part Two, 3/3).
  3. Kanata manages Aoumi Aquarium.
