Mega Stream – Thursday Course; Ryuseitai Mini Talk

Context
Starting sometime in early July, all ES units will be living together in their own respective room on Mega Sphere (the floating ship above ES). Nice-P announced that it will last for a month. During that month, they’ll be live-streaming as part of their job, called the “Mega Stream”.
This storyline will be covered in the first main story of the Mega Sphere arc, “Mega Stream”.
This Mini Talk covers Ryuseitai’s live stream where they introduce themselves.

Season: Summer (ES 2nd Year, July)

Hello. This is Ryuseitai speaking; we’re in charge of the Thursday stream… I’m being told to start with a self-introduction, so I’ll be doing that.
My name is Takamine Midori. My hobbies are collecting yuruchara merchandise, and… DIY, too.
Um, do people get what I mean by “DIY”? It’s basically, well, doing carpentry at home…?
Erm… I make things with practical use. Like shelves, storage boxes, that sort of thing…
It’s nothing fancy, just stuff that are handy to have. I think it’s mostly simple stuff from me.
Also… I’ve made a case to display my yuruchara merchandise before. ♪
Ah, there’s already a comment this fast. Ermm… No way. I don’t make anything special, y’know?
I don’t have any of the real tools, either. I just make small stuff like simple shelves and the like…
But… it’s really nice to see things take form into something useful. That’s why I’m kind of into it lately…♪

hello~ (waves) i am shinkai kanata, from ryuseitai.
my hobby is [water-bathing]. [puka puka] is the best on warm days…♪
where is your favorite spot to [puka puka], everyone? i would love to know.
yes~ [puka puka] is the sound you hear when you are floating in the [water]. like a [pond] or the [sea]…
[puka puka]-ing while the [waves] rock you about puts you in a lovely mood, doesn’t it?
i cannot swim, though, so i would simply just sink to the bottom if i did that in the sea. buku buku, bubbles going up to the surface…♪
people often tell me that this is [surprising] to hear, but… i cannot swim.
i will simply sink to the bottom in any [deep] bodies of water, like the [sea] or the [pool]…
i [love] to splish-splash in the [sea]. it is fun just having my feet in the water~♪

Ossu! I’m Nagumo Tetora, from Ryuseitai!1
My hobby is muscle-building, and my specialty is martial arts! There’s nothing I love more than movin’ my body!
I pour my everyday efforts into my goal of becoming a strong, cool man!
Ooh, I was just waitin’ for you to ask!
The person I admire is Taishou—Kiryu Kuro-senpai, from Akatsuki!2
I still haven’t gotten near enough to see his back — But one of these days, I’ll catch up to him, and become a big, kind, and strong man just like Taishou!
I usually eat ready-made meals. If I’m focused on nutrition, then that’s the quickest way to go ‘bout it.
But when I have the time, I try to make food on my own! ♪
I’m studyin’ up on fry pan-based cooking! I hope to become skilled enough to appear in a cooking show someday! ☆

Ossu! The next segment of the live stream will also be held by me!1
Speaking of which, today is Thursday! To all the students and working adults, thank you for all your hard work this week!
It’s goin’ to be the weekend as soon as you overcome Friday! Let’s fire ourselves up for the last stretch~! Go out there and get ‘em!
I’m glad to hear that. I’ll share with you all my energy as much as you need, so please take a huge fill of it!
All for one, and one for all. That’s what Ryuseitai’s all about…☆
I’ll keep working hard with all I’ve got to cheer everyone up, so we hope you can continue to support us!
Ah, really…? It’s not good to work too hard. It’s important to rest properly, too!
Whenever you don’t have enough energy, it’s best to let yourself recover instead of forcin’ yourself to move.
I hope we can cheer you up a li’l through our Ryuseitai stream~♪

Ryuseitai, Morisawa Chiaki! I’ve finally made my appearance…☆
Oohh, the comments are filled with the fire emoji! It’s like it’s emitting my burning spirit within!
Ooh! You really know exactly what a hero’s all about, don’t you! I’d love to shake hands with you, but… Unfortunately, that isn’t possible through the screen.
But of course, I wasn’t late to arrive or anything. I was watching over my comrades as they were on the clock, right besides them.
Believing in your comrades and sending them off… That’s also another important duty for the hero! ☆
Yep! I’m always burning aflame, no matter when!
After all! As long as I have burning hot courage and passion, I can overcome any and all hardships!
If any of you want to gain courage, just call for our name, “Ryuseitai”! It’ll surely give you that reassurance to take a step forward! ☆

Ooh!? That frog emoji looks exactly like Momocchi!
You know who Momocchi is? Everyone knows me all too well~
I’m super duper happy right now, all wrapped up in the frog icons and everyone’s warmth…☆
Thank you for all the ninja emojis! Ooh, the ninja is even throwing shurikens! You truly get it~
I’m truly happy to be associated with ninjas! I have to polish my skills even further as the ninja idol!
I shall keep building myself through training, with the goal of becoming a one-of-a-kind idol! Nin-nin! ♪
Translation Notes
- ↑ Tetora’s first person pronoun is ore (俺), a masculine pronoun. But in the live stream, he instead refers to himself with jibun (自分) in front of the viewers, which is more humble in comparison, but not overly humble either. Jibun is also used by people who are taiikukai-kei, a description Tetora has used about himself, and taiikukai-kei describes those who are part of a sports club.
- ↑ Taishou (大将) is how Tetora calls Kuro. It means “chief”, “boss”, “general”.
- ↑ When an army needs to flee from a battle, those who are situated at the back are called shingari. Since fleeing is a risky move that exposes the squad’s back to the enemy, the shingari’s role is to defend their allies from the far back until they’ve successfully fleed.
